Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymised string (hash) created from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images published on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.
A temporary cookie is set when you visit the login page to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set up cookies to store your login credentials and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”. Screen options cookies last for a year. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, a cookie is stored in your browser that includes the post ID of the article. It expires after one day and contains no personal data.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email. We do not sell or trade your personal data.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, both the comment and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically.
If you register on our website (if enabled), we store the personal information you provide in your profile. You can view, edit, or delete your data at any time (except for your username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
Your rights over your data
You may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any information you’ve provided. You may also ask us to delete your personal data. This excludes any data we must keep for legal, administrative, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
